For anyone that has the HBC 1.0.8 installed I recommend this APP. NOTHING MORE IS NEEDED other than HBC 1.0.8.

Works faster if you have IOS58 installed (IOS58 comes with games like YourShape or Racket Sports or System Menu 4.3)

NOTE: if HBC 1.0.8 is installed BEFORE you install IOS58 you need to reinstall the HBC 1.0.8 again to have it install on IOS58. When I installed IOS58 after the fact I REMOVED the HBC and reinstalled it. I have no idea if reinstalling over the existing 1.0.8 actually installs to IOS58 or if other issues arise. I found it better to remove and reinstall from scratch)

All I did was download: http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/CleanRip and placed in the apps folder
Placed HDD in the Wii - YES the Wii not the WODE
Placed Disc in the Wii
TURNED REGION PATCH OFF in WODE Settings - reports state it can cause issues
Select Flat Mode on the WODE
Start the HBC
Start Clean RIP
Follow on screen instructions.

It placed the iso file onto the root of your HDD and is called the GAME ID.iso

Simply rename as you wish and move into your ISO folder and play :)

- It does do BCA but I have not tested if it works or not. NSMB will be after SSBB :)

It works to FAT32 and NTFS. I have only done one test so far but it ripped Wii Play to a NTFS partition in just over 13.5min. YES 13.5min. This is quicker than WODE to EXT3 / FAT32 and craps all over WODE to NTFS.

Reports have SSBB (Dual Layer Game) in less than 40min. I am yet to test this as that will be next.

This could be a great alternative for those with the HBC installed and having issues with ripping.

A HUGE THANK YOU to emu_kidid for a sweet and easy to use APP.

EDIT: 25min to complete SSBB NTFS as a FULL ISO RIP (WODE takes about 23.5min to do a single layer to FAT32/EXT3... For WODE a Dual Layer disc to NTFS takes about 4hrs)

EDIT: Flawless RIP of NSMB + BCA and played for over 30min with no issues

EDIT: Works on HBC 1.0.7 but it rips MUCH slower - but still faster than WODE to NTFS. I stopped after a short while as I could not be bothered waiting but looked like it was going to take about 1hr 20min ish...

My tests have been done on HBC 1.0.8 running from IOS58

I guess it's Homebrew, topic moved. Disc ripping should be about disc ripping with WODE IMHO ;).

The BCA rip feature is marked experimental and was just added with v1.0.1. Anyways, thanks to emu_kidid for another great homebrew app :).

This works great. I can't get Firmware 2.3 working on my wii/wode. So this solves my ripping worries.

Works also for previously backup dvd's. After ripping I then create a wbfs with Wii Backup Manager to make it smaller.

No idea - I have only tested with 1.01. If that works then stick with it :)

P.s. I will have to test 1.0.3 to see what happens to me

EDIT: on 1.0.3 ripping to NTFS I also get :

nfts:0/chunk0.bin
Failed to create file!

I will stick with 1.0.1 for now :)

EDIT 2: I checked the link by rduke and went to the issues tab. A fix is being worked on:

In case anyone else encounters the same problem, I tried using CleanRip 1.01 with my WD passport 320GB HDD. Followed the directions the OP posted above. It would get to the screen that said to insert a USB HDD and Press A, I tried pressing A but nothing happenned even though my HDD was connected to the back of the Wii since I had turned it on.

I tried unplugging the HDD and back in but then the rip would immediately fail. Tried with it in the WODE, same thing. Finally I decided to be patient, restarted from the beginning and just let it set on that screen. I must have been at least a minute, maybe longer, but it eventually mounted the drive and is now ripping SSBB.
