Alright so I have been backing up all of my games on to my hdd, I then tried to test them to make sure they would work. The games work in flat wode but when I try to load them up via the hdd and wode it says I have an error and I have to turn off the power to the gamecube. Some games load up to a curtain point (example, resident evil 3 loads up until the capcom logo and then gives this error) and some games do not load at all and go straight to the error ( legend of zelda windwaker). They go to about 3000 reads and 7000 kbs. Could I be missing an iso? I have try all options in the wiigator and still nothing works, but low and behold i pop in the original disk and it loads up fine in flat wode. I have also try to rename some as .gcm instead of .iso, but this does not work either.

black wii with latest hbc
wii firmware 4.3u
wode firmware 2.5a
western digital wdd 120 gb

any info missing? please tell me and I will add info right away.

The games should load just fine from HDD.

1. I assume you have ripped the Original games to HDD via WODE correct?
- Using WODE means they should work as they will definitely be a clean rip

2. Are you tried loading them straight from the LCD / Wii Disc Channel rather than WiiGator?
- I recommend selecting the game on the LCD which will load it to the Wii Disc Channel and then start it from there

3. Wiigator might not be compatible for starting GC Games from HDD
- I know WodeFlow struggles loading a number of GC games
- However from LCD the games that do not load via WodeFlow start perfectly via LCD
- I use the original WODE Menu App that was built. It allows me to select a game, reboots the Wii back to the main Wii System Menu with the GC game in the Disc Channel and then it starts no issues.

This WODE Menu App I mentioned is used via the HBC and was created by a couple of members on this forum. You will have to do a search for it as I do not have a link on hand. I only use this so that I do not have to use the LCD to select it.

Alternatively you can set AutoLoad: CFG in WODE Settings. This will load a GC Menu to the Wii Disc Channel. Start that with the Wiimote, then use a GC Controller to select the game and it reboots back to the Wii System Menu, then start the game with teh Wiimote and then play with the GC Controller. This si how I use to do it before the WODE Menu App was made.

No problems - option 4 I left off was "Some other Soft Mod effecting the games"

Glad it is resolved

Hi, sorry to bump this thread but I have a question I feel would be better asked attached to it rather than starting a new one.

I have my ripped copy of Metal Gear: TTS and it loads from the menu screen and comes up with Konami before giving me this message;

ERROR: module 'shared/mgso_pal.rel' is to
o big
limit is 4874240
size is -2130739200
over by -2135613440

a) Do I need the previously mentioned MISO,
b) If so, how do I get it?
c) Is it a soft mod and what risks does it carry with regards to bricking etc?

I have 4.3E, not sure what WODE firmware.

Many thanks in advance.

Santi.

Hi Santi,

There's a note on another website, for that exact error message, which indicates you should run "FSTFIX.EXE" using a PC.

either FSTFIX t f NameOfYourGameCubeIso.iso
or FSTFIX NameOfYourGameCubeIso.iso t f

Before you ask:
a) no, I don't know where you can find FSTFIX.EXE
b) no, I don't know how to to use FSTFIX.EXE ... I recommend you back up your precious data and otherwise put your head between your knees, before running it.

Thanks very much for the quick reply, Ted.

I'll go and try to find that and see how I get on.

I'll be back.

Sorted, got FSTFIX and dropped the two files onto it and renamed them afterwards.

Problem is now I got rid of my memory card and need a new one to play it :D

Thank again, Ted.

Santi.
