Will there be a hardware upgrade path to the WODE ELITE VERTICAL STAND for current WODE owners? You development guys really rock and do great work. I hope to be able to upgrade my wode to the WODE ELITE VERTICAL STAND. Thanks, Vik.

I do not see why you would not be able to. The chip inside the Wii will be the same as far as I am aware.

You should be able to remove the existing WODE Standard Vertical Stand with the Elite. Just remove the ribbon cable from the current and install it into the new. No Wii opening required.

That is my understanding. However, not sure if you can purcahse just the stand on its own....

This post implies that it will be available for 30 EUR as a separate piece.

Yes, it does imply that, basically it states that but not with 100% certainty in my opinion.

I have learned not to base a fact on something that is implied.

I should have said "I am not 100% sure" ;) But I do agree that it states an "Optional extra" and "it's street value" etc.

It is highly likely, yes, but I would like to wait and see what actually gets offered by the resellers, that is all.

It appears that one can upgrade from the new "basic" model to the new "elite" model so I hope our "basic" models are upgradable. I like the new features and that would eliminate some my wire jungle. Once again, good work team.

p.s. To be clear, I would like to upgrade my WODE with a kit to add the new features, not replace my WODE with the newer model.

As of now, we know what admin posted and not much else.

Interpret what you will from his posts but if it is not obviously spelled out, it is all speculation at this point.

I am quite pleased with the WODE as it does what I expected when I bought it. Any new features are just lagniappe as far as I am concerned. It will be exciting and interesting to see what uses the development team and the users squeeze out of the WODE in the future.

While were on the subject of new stuff and pure speculation, anyone care to speculate on just how the heck the interface cable connects to the WODE lite? They show an illustration of the board plugged directly into the rear USB of the Wii, and then in the next illustration it shows the ribbon connector on the same board. I find it hard to imagine snaking that ribbon cable through to the rear of the Wii, either inside or outside the case. Maybe I just have a poor imagination.

I was wondering the same thing. Since it apparently plugs into a Wii USB port, maybe it utilizes that connection to talk to the WODE mainboard?

Unless there is no WODE mainboard, but I don't see how that would work. Not that I'm very knowledgeable about the techy details.
