I recently purchased at WODE and installed it, and when trying to update via SD card the WODE won't recognise the SD card. I have formatted 3 different SD cards ( 1 SDHC, other 2 SD) to FAT32 and dumped the update file (.bin) to root of each card. Wiped all other files on the Sd cars too. I plugged the SD cards in, before turning on the console (the console was not on standby) and the WODE wont recognise it. Ive tried different firmware versions on the SD cards to see if a different one would work too too. Any idea what I am doing wrong. As far as I know I have installed the WODE correctly. It is working fully operational on firmware 1.0. A little green light appears on the front of the console and FLAT MODE etc works. Any ideas to what I am doing wrong? By the way all the SD cards have been TOSHIBA brand, and i have been using a mac to format the SD and dump the .bin etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm going crazy trying to figure this out! haha

Does a hdd get detected in the USB port?

As a minimum I would open the WODE stand, remove the ribbon cable and install it again.

I just bought my 2nd WODE last week and had the same problem. The Wode don't even recognize the SD card when I tried to update from firmware 1.0. I tried Zephyr's advice to open the Wode stand, remove the ribbon cable and install it again, but it still didn't work. Look like the hdd didn't get detected in the USB port neither. Is there any chance that the updater somehow got corrupted? Please advice.

Do you definitely have the cable round the correct way? (I would assume so as backwards - I believe - leaves the LCD white with nothign on it)

Only other advise is to open up the Wii and check your cable at the other end... Also check your cable(s) for any damage

wurD93, when you stated that you reinsert the cable, did you do that at the WODE stand?

Zephyr, I am able to play a game using FLAT mode. Would that mean the cable in the Wii is installed correctly? For the cable at the Wode stand, I had the blue facing toward the side that have USB port the sam way I saw it when I first opened it up.

If you can see the LCD text and select flat mode then the cable is in the right way. I do not remember which way round the cables go. There is a tutorial on here with pictures somewhere.

It seems you either need to open the Wii and reinstall everything again - which many other did even though the stated it was installed correctly - and this fixed the issue most of the time.

After that if the issue still remains it is likely you _might_ have a faulty slave board. I would contact your reseller and see if you can get an exchange / replacement WODE
