Hi guys.

My WODE has an Y-USB-Cable. In all the pictures i see from Wode i just se one USB Cable and not the Y-one (with 2 USB-Cables) i have.

Because i'm using a Nintendo LAN Adapter to play online i wanted to ask if i need both cables putted in the both USB-Slots ?

Also when i shut the Wii down theres no red LED. It will turn for half an second red and then disappear.

The second connector is to supply extra power to the WODE's USB port. If you have an externally powered USB hard drive you don't need to plug them both in. If you are using a USB hard drive with only the USB connection and no power plug, you may need them both. They don't have to be plugged into the WII, most any powered USB hub will work as well. I personally have a hub plugged into the WII, so I can plug my rock band instruments and mic in as well as the WODE.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Like jonathanm already said:
you've got a more recently built WODE, plugging in one of the two cables should be sufficient to power the WODE, the second has been added to supply USB-powered HDDs with additional power.

Rejoice as this version also comes with a dimmed LCD display compared to V1 ;).

The power LED dropping off completely is something that should not happen, though :-/.

Well, that depends on the exact circuit board revision in the WII, some newer WII's seem to behave exactly that way.

Thx for the fast replies.
I have an older Wii (D2B Cut, also goot Bootmii as boot2). Well then i will buy an USB-HUB. This one should be ok ---> http://cgi.ebay.de/Aktiver-4-Port-USB-2 ... 20b08e2f4d , isnt it? (ebay.de because i'm from Germany :D)

So i can put the USB-hub into the Wii USB-Slot and then one of the two WODE USB-Cables into the hub (the other one in the Wii) ?

Well that the LED drops completly off is not a big problem, just wanted to mention it and if there would be a solution ok, if not, no prob ;) =)

You really don't have to have one plugged into the Wii at all. Just plugging one or both into a powered USB Hub will work as well. It all depends on what power you need to take from the WODE's USB port. The WODE doesn't communicate at all through that USB cable.

Didn't know about that, thanks for the info.

Yep that hub should be OK as it's active/powered ;).

Yep, what jonathanm said: you can also put the hub into the WODE, the WODE's cables and your USB drives into the Hub for example.

Well, here is my two-pennuth.

Recently noticed that my red power light was going off when I turned the Wii off using the power button.
WiiConnect24 was, at that time "on"
Changed that to "off" and the red power light then stayed on when the button was used.
Changed it back to "on" and the red power light stays on again now when the button is used.........weird or what :?
So I guess it's not a hardware issue is it?

Martin
