Hi all

I have just received my wode, and have encountered an issue with the DVD power source…

After installing the wode chip inside the WII, when I attach the new orange power cable (that came with the Wode) from the wode chip to the DVD power slot, then I am unable to power up the WII . The light stays Red, and won't power on when the power button is pressed. All the data cables are correctly attached.

If I remove the power cable from either the Wode chip, or from the DVD itself, then the WII powers up correctly, and the Wode works fine, however, I then am unable to use the DVD drive. If I put the WII data cable, and the WII power cable back to the DVD slots, then the DVD works fine..but obviously no Wode then.

Anyone aware of any issues with either the power cable being faulty, or perhaps the DVD power slot on the wode chip not working??

Thanks
David

I too am having this problem, I havent disconnected the wode and reconnected the wii drive to how it originaly was. But I am getting the same red light on start up and when pressing the power it flashes green and the dvd slot flashes blue then it just dies :(

On further inspection the cable coming from the wode stand into the wii looks like it could be damaged in the base of the wode.

I tried my mates power cable and the same result so I'm gunna disconnect the power cord and leave it overnight and try again in the morning. :|

all the pins are fine. I've checked the slots on the chip, as well as the DVD.

I have even put the original power cable back onto the DVD, and this powers up fine..so I belive there is nothing wrong with the slot (or pins) on the DVD.

my suspicion is either the slot on the wii chip, or the orange power cable.

I removed the wode and put the wii back to how it was and it fixed the power issue also. So i think i may have a faulty orange power cable and/or the long white cable coming from the wode base.

Hi WODESTERS,

I think the issue here may have been caused by damage to the ribbon cable between the WODE and Wii, then turning on powering the wode has damaged the lcd screen or currently it is just not getting the full signal due to cut tracks on cable, also check there is no sticky tape on the wii end of the ribbion cable from factory postage. if it was me id check these and replace as necessary, u may have to get hold of a new ribbon cable.

I watched an awsome INSTALLATION VIDEO from MODSUPPLIER it shows in detail how to avoid such troubles with a couple of simple tips during install I found it very handy for my first WODE installation.

here is the video link,

or

HIGH RES:

Good Luck

Can you try removing the orange cable, DVD drive and the Wode <-> DVD drive flexi? Also remove any cables from the Wode USB connector

Does it power up now?
