Wode Jukebox

Hey everyone, getting ready to get a wode here in the next couple of weeks and I'm looking at hard drives and to be honest, I'm lost. I've been all over the forums and there's so much information I'm having problems sorting it all out. We have a MASSIVE collection of GC/Wii games. I'm wanting to turn my Wii into basically "the ultimate emulation machine" If these questions have already been discussed I apologize ahead of time and feel free to give me the boot in the right direction. So my questions are:

1. 1tb vs 2tb to hold everything? I'm talking about almost every gc/wii game (scrubbed) as well as the other consoles the wii will emulate. I was honestly leaning towards the 2tb (with my extremely limited knowledge it seems like this is going to be A LOT of data) BUT I don't want to overshoot it either and have say 1tb of space just sitting there not being used.

2. ISO vs WBFS? Again, pretty much just information overload for me.
2.1 Best format for hdd? I'm HOPING to get a v2 wode.

3. Brand of hdd? Some better than others? Doesn't really matter? I would "prefer" a smaller physical size hdd as I have the wii pelican horizontal stand I'm using and the inside is 8.5 x 4 inches (if I do some filing/sanding/cutting and strip it all down) I'm going to pull the wode out of it's casing and put it in here as well.

4. I see some people using a usb hub. Is this needed? I don't "plan" on using multiple hdds so other than that I don't see a reason for the hubs?

5. usb powered vs ac powered? I see people going back and forth about this with just using the hdd normally (on pc) let alone throwing a wode into the mix. That's why I'm asking in here because I'd rather hear from people who have actual experience.

As you can still store other stuff on the HDD alongside Wii/GC games 2TB would be preferable I guess. If you don't have *all* Wii/GC games but only the ones worthy playing 1TB should suffice though .

ISO can be scrubbed to the same size as WBFS files on NTFS partitions. Other than that opt for wbfs files. Just use WiiBackupManager for conversion. v1/v2 WODE doesn't have different compatiblity - basically just a dimmed LCD and a y-cable for power via USB. Anyways: Small FAT32 partition for ripping if you need it - other than that NTFS as you don't have to split the larger games in multiple files. If you're a Linux person use ext3 .

Hard to say I guess that's depending on your preference. Though I've heard bad things about the (USB powered, portable) Seagate drives lately. Can't complain about the regular internal drives from them though.

If you have a WODE v2 in combination with a USB powered drive: no you don't need a hub. WODE v1 sometimes doesn't have enough power for those, so a hub can help there.

Both should work.

Just a side note. I had a 2 TB hd and ran out of ruoom with just the wii backup files. No iso's or GC files just wbfs files. So now I'm on a 3 TB. So I'd go for a 3 TB or the new 4 TB. But wode would only see's 2 tb partions. So I split it into 2 1.5 partions.

So you're playing all the crappy games, too? Got every game in english, portuguese and japanese to hone your language skills? I don't envy you. xD

Or in other words: if you're not a die hard collector of everything 2TB are enough.
