Hello Everyone, I'm very new to this kind of stuff and recently I bought a Wode jukebox in order to play my out of region game discs (mostly US and japanese) on my Pal Wii.

Since I had upgraded my Wii to 4.3E I downgraded to 4.1 (wode website says that only with firmware below 4.1 I can read original dvds out of my region). All seemed to have worked just fine. I still be able to play european discs via Flat Wode w/o region patching, but when I try to run a game of another region the screen goes black.

Generally:
Wii Region EUR
Wii FW Version 4.1E
Wode Firmware Version 2.9
Wode FPGA Version 2.0
Game Name Nancy Drew the white wolf of icicle creek
Game Region NTSC-US

NEW: IF playing a game from HDD & the Wii displays the black "an error has occurred..." screen please include the text (reads / KB) displayed on the Wode LCD when this occurred

Flat mode:
backup or original : ORIGINAL
DVD drive type GC2-D2B (according to http://www.wiidrives.com/list)
Media type (manufacturer, +/-R)

On Wode LCD:
Region Patching: ON
Updates: YES
WII Region: EUR

Game appears in disc channel, but when I hit Play the screen goes black. Amber light on the wode.
Thank you guys for any suggestion.

Some games require y to be on a higher wii firmware version or at least have the latest iOS file that the game runs off. To figure out what iOS the game runs off you need to google. There are tutorials in the WODE HomeBrew section oohs to install iOS files etc without updating... But there are better site stat explain it - like gbatemp

I always have had regiopatch on in WODE settings.

Anyway - I would personally upgrade to 4.3 firmware and install the hbc and use wodeflow to play the games. Wodeflow will allow you to play out of region games from the hdd. If you have not backed up your originals yet then you can do so via the WODE ripping feature (it will rip your in regions out of region games)

Once on the hdd, start wodeflow and play away

There are tutorials on how to install and setup wodeflow in the WODE HomeBrew forum section and also links to installs etc in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5038
